The MHTP’s Medical Genomics Facility can provide bioinformatics support through The Monash Bioinformatics Platform and the Monash e-Research Centre. The Monash Bioinformatics Platform is a hub for the network of bioinformaticians who support the university and its affiliates. They have expertise in cutting-edge computational techniques in areas such as genomics, proteomics and structural biology.

The Facility strongly encourages meeting with a bioinformatician prior to project commencement and sample processing to ensure the best experimental design is implemented.

Bioinformatics software licenses are also hosted by the Facility and available for shared access. See our Bioinformatics Resources page for more information.

The Monash Bioinformatics Platform (MBP) is a core facility that provides bioinformatics support to the University and affiliated organisations in partnership with research groups and facilities. It has a wide range of expertise in biological research fields requiring cutting edge computational techniques such as genomics, proteomics and structural biology. It is also the hub for a distributed network of bioinformaticians embedded across the University and a partner in technical training and infrastructure development.

Monash e-Research Centre

High Performance Computing and data storage requirements of the Facility are coordinated through our collaboration with Monash e-Research at Monash University.

The Monash e-Research Centre (MeRC) is a partnership between the Vice-Provost (Research and Research Infrastructure), eSolutions, the library and faculties.

MeRC connects local and global researchers, enabling them to share and manage their research in a way that is faster and more secure. MeRC offers specialist advice and customised e-research solutions, including:

High performance computing
Modelling and simulation facilities
Storage and management of research data
Advanced collaboration platforms
Visualisation platforms
Specialised server hosting
