October 2012 – Professor Bryan Williams (MIMR Director) and Mr Russell Caplan (ACRF Board Member) hosted the official opening of the ACRF Centre for Cancer Genomic Medicine, which was opened by The Hon. Simon Crean, Federal Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government and Minister for the Arts.

The Centre is a state-of-the-art facility housing Next Generation Sequencing technologies that provide a greater insight into the nature of genes involved in cancer. The new technology will enable researchers to gain a better understanding of the molecular changes underlying cancer development and help identify new treatments targeting specific cancers.
